Not that we want to jinx anything but after several false starts and two weeks of sniffle isolation (that turned out to be allergies and nothing more), Ruby has officially been integrated into the “rest of the house” (as much of the house as she cares about) on a 24/7 basis. Finally, no more hiding and sleeping all day in the servant’s quarters. She’s chosen instead a warm, heated mat in the south-facing window of the Cat Den where a nice view, food, water, toys and litter boxes are all within a few steps of one another.
She seems to be happy and everyone else seems to be getting used to her more with each passing day and night. We don’t doubt that any day now, she’ll be chasing Quint and Pia up and down the stairs, tattling on everything Tessa does, sharing secrets with Miss Newton and Olivia, begging at the refrigerator door at breakfast and at the dinner table in the evening and demanding one-on-one Mom and Dad time just like everyone else.
We’re so proud of you, Ruby Roo. We knew you could and would join the rest of the crew on your own good time. Love, Mom and the Dad.
