Olivia here and now that January is over, boy, have I got some gossip news to report! Let me tell you everything Mom won’t.

First of all, and because I couldn’t forget this if I tried, have you seen my big brother Maxx lately? He says he’s still on his ‘diet’ (says this using ‘paw-quote’ signs) and what I’m seeing is him doing his ‘Maxx-ercise.’ *again with the paw-quotes*

Sweet Jell-O in a chair! Me thinks he’s been nipping at baby sister Viola’s kitten kibble too much lately! Mom says he’s fine and still on track, whatever that means. *rolls eyes*

Nextly, every time Mom leaves the room, Miss Newton mumbles stuff about wanting to be in more photos this year. *snicker* Yeah, this coming from my sister who wrote the book on escaping the camera!

Speaking of someone who probably won’t be getting more face-time, my bigger sister Tessa is in the doghouse BIG time! My Mom says she’s grounded for life for ruining an entire cabinet that can’t be replaced. I guess she peed on it a whole bunch. Uh, Tessa did, not my Mom, and that it was so ruined, it had to be thrown out. The worst part was she (again, my sister Tessa) peed on it while Mom was watching and that she (Tessa) had peed and peed and peed “Like there was no tomorrow,” or so Mom said.

Mom says Tessa’s v-e-t checkup came back fine and that she’s stress peeing (Tessa, again, not Mom although by this point, maybe Mom is too!) because she (Tessa) doesn’t like new sister Zuzu’s smell in our litter boxes. Personally, I think Tessa’s just being picky but what do I know?

My mom would like a moment to thank everyone who has sent her tips and tricks to help with Tessa, the Pee Queen. Mom’s happy to report she’s on the same page with most of the information and help and that Tessa is going on five days without an accident. Thank you, tipsters!

Anyhoo, Tessa is grounded to the big bedroom 24/7 and new sister Zuzu has graduated out of that bedroom 24/7. Mom says the timing is perfect for switching them now that sister Zuzu’s post surgery checkup showed she is doing very, very well. I kind of like new sister Zuzu and like that she’s out in the rest of the house with us. Well… I like her most of the time. She plays hard and for keeps!

And now that she’s had her surgery, Zuzu gets these goofy, happy looks on her face more often. I tell you, sometimes, it’s almost creepy! What does she have to be happy about? A grape has more fur on it than what she has on her belly!

If you think Tessa would be unhappy to be grounded, you haven’t seen Pia lately. She just found out Mom won’t be in town over Valentine’s Day Weekend and that’s going to cramp Pia’s secret plans to fly over to see her boyfriend Dexter of Cherry City Kitties. Boy, is the Bean ever upset; so upset, she’s not speaking to Mom!

Note to D: My secret name for my sister Pia when she’s upset is Grumps McBean. Our secret secret! Don’t tell her I told you!

Mom insists her absence can’t be helped. Pia isn’t listening. Mom says she’ll get over it. Pia sings, “La-la-la-la-la-I-can’t-hear-you-la-la-la.” It’s comical, I tell you!

And then something really comical happens. My brother Quint might be turning into a squirrel! At least his tail might be. Or maybe a opossum. I mean, LOOK AT THAT CURLY TAIL! Is that even normal? Why, I bet he could loop that over a curtain rod and dangle there for days with that! And he’d probably have his nose in an art book the whole time and not even notice. He’s an odd one, that brother of mine.

I can’t look at his tail anymore. Is it gone? Did you scroll past it? Good! Moving on, my sister Ruby has become a good Auntie to baby sister bunnyrabbit Viola and is teaching her to respect her elders. Apparently, even when her elders are nomming down the kitten chow!

Take note Miss Newton’s tail photobombing the picture there (hmmm, maybe she really will get into more photos…) Mom says to cut Ruby some slack because Ruby could stand a few more daily calories. I’m glad I don’t need any of those, being that I’m as sleek and perfect as they come!

And finally we come to the end. Literally! That baby sister bunnybutt Viola. She’s into everything!

So there it is. And now, you’re all caught up!

  1. Olivia , thank´s for the up-date on efurrybody !
LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo on Viola in the mug <3

    XOXO

  2. What a great update. We love the photo of Viola. Enjoy her while she’s small enough to fit into a mug… she’ll be as big as Maxx before you know it!

  3. Thank you for the update Olivia – Mum read it all out to us. We love the picture of Viola examining the bottom of the mug and it made Mum go all silly and start squeeing. These humans!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  4. Toby & Leia says:

Oh, we luff the gossip sessions. That’s a lot of stuff going on there too.

  5. Rene S says:

We too love the gossip sessions. And Quint’s tail is soooo adorable!

  6. Bernadette says:

That’s an awful lot to take in! I think you should all just sit back and let Viola make a kitten fool of herself for some good laughs!

  7. june says:

I have been literally laughing out loud while reading this and catching up on all the antics and goings on as seen through Olivia’s keen observations.

I wasn’t laughing, however, while reading about your ruined cabinets and Tessa’s seemingly intentional ‘accidents.’ I know all too well what that’s like. Hopefully, Tessa will de-stress and chillax in a little while and all will be well again amongst all the Colehaus cats.

That bottom photo of Viola’s…emmm…bunny-bottom has had me in fits of oohs and squeals, too. She’s so adorable.

Thanks for all the goss, Olivia. You really know how to tell it like it is. 🙂

  8. june says:

ps – Your big brother Maxx is very much like our Benny. Even though he’s nearly 20 pounds, he insists that he’s not fat and doesn’t have a weight problem at all, but rather, that it’s a case of him being ‘big boned’ and that because he’s quite tall (he has very long legs, I have to agree with him), he feels he carries himself very well indeed. 🙂

  9. prancer pie says:

Thanks for all the updates that’s goin on at your house! We just love Viola’s little bum, too!
    Have a great Monday, furriends!
    >>smooches<<

  10. Olivia, have you considered being on TV as a reporter? You could have covered the Kitten Bowl yesterday. You manage to find out all the nitty gritty details of all your brothers and sisters and you report it in a matter of fact way. Good job!!!!

  11. Angel Abby says:

great update Olivia, that was fun hearing all he gossip,xx Speedy

  15. Kitties Blue says:

My goodness, that was a lot of news. We are sorry about the Tessa situation. Mauricio is a sprayer and will do it right in front of Mom. She tries to keep a calming collar on him which helps some. And Astrid has been doing some of the stress peeing ’cause all the others like to pick on her until she screams! She hasn’t ruined anything, thankfully. Mom ordered some of this Cat Atrrack litter that she read about in reviews recently on a couple of other blogs. She’ll let you know if it works. It was really nice to see efurrybuddy! Have a great week. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  16. Whisppy says:

What a funtastic update on EFFURYONE! We love that last photo of Viola. Too funny!
We have a “Tessa” here too. But it’s a HE and he’s been driving Mommy crazy. He pees on soft things like clothes, Whisky’s bed, tissue paper and most recently, on Eeyore the stuffie! Mommy says if it happens again, he’s going to be grounded!

  17. OMD Viola in the mug is priceless. Great update Olivia and pawsome heads up on all that is going on. LOL Quint turning into a squirrel, hope not as we hate them but love you all. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  32. Olivia, thanks for dishing the dirt on all your brothers and sisters. That little Viola is pretty cute, isn’t she? And we hope Tessa gets her peeing under control or else she’ll hafta live in the big bedroom permanently!

  33. meowmeowmans says:

Good job with that awesome reportage, Olivia! We sure hope that Tessa’s five days turn into six, and then seven, all the way to infinity. And seriously, Viola in the mug just made us smile SO big! 🙂

  34. Fuzzy Tales says:

Holy cats, that’s a lot of gossip…news! Your home is very busy this winter! Too bad about that cabinet, but we hope the tips that others offered continue to help. And of course that photo of Viola is too precious for words, is worthy of submission to a contest or for a calendar.

  35. Thanks Olivia! Always good to know the latest “scoop”!

pee ess: Miss Newton, Tipp says when you can’t get your fac in the shot… at least give ’em a good TAILBOMB! hee hee

pee pee ess: don’t be a grumpy ‘lil mcbean… wha? who said that? I mean don’t be mad a mom sweet Pia I have a whole year full of special days that belong to you… we’ll let the rest of the world have that one… your Dexter…

  36. tonkstail says:

We’re so very sorry Tessa’s stress-peeing but hey, 5 days and counting! You go girl! (Sorry Miss T, but Viola *is* awfully cute in that mug!)

  37. Olivia, you do the best reports. Did your Mom see my article about litter box habits and that Cat Attract litter? I don’t suppose you can have 1 more box than number of kitties. HAH!

    • colehauscats says:

We’re using the Cat Attract litter and highly recommend it! We also have Cat Attract herbal sprinkles and like that too! We have 7 boxes total and are using three different kinds of litter at the moment. Tessa is doing very well with her boxes that she shares with Maxx and Ruby and as a side benefit of all the litter box issues we’re learning, Maxx is now doing much, much better with his stress peeing and spends a lot of time out of his bedroom now!

  38. You do the best reports, Olivia. Did your Mom see my blog about litter box issues? Well, I’m glad to be all caught up. (You sure Tessa did the peeing and not your Mom?)

  39. Love the reports 🙂
