More Tabby. Olivia’s Stripes.

Sweet Olivia – October 2012. 2012 © Colehaus Cats.

We don’t know what it is but everytime we photograph Olivia, we end up seeing all kinds of fuzz and stray fur and pieces of litter/food/hair on her in the results. She’s the only cat we’ve wanted to dust before photographing! We’ve not resorted to that just yet, but Photoshop gets a workout before publishing. Funny how none of that fluff comes out on the other cats. Then again, Olivia is our only black panther. And because we have standards, *puffs out chest* don’t expect to see any dusty cats here anytime soon! Photoshop away!

The other day however, the light was just right and we saw something we’d never want to Photoshop away. Something that made us smile so big, we thought our faces were gonna freeze that way. You know Olivia’s become such a snuggle bug sweetheart and she’s always hanging out wherever we are and making the cutest little sounds. Not mews, just…sounds. Well, she was lounging on one of the office desks and we looked over and well, see for yourself.

Do you see them? Look there, on her back legs, on her side and belly, there on her forearms. Maybe another picture will help. This one’s in different light.

Olivia’s Secret Tabby Stripes. 2012 © Colehaus Cats.

Now do you see them? Deep black stripes! Our littlest girl has Tabby in her! Oh JOY! We LOVE Tabby stripes and this means every single Colehaus Cat has Tabby stripes.

Welcome to the club, Miss Olivia Secret Stripes. Not only did we know you were special, now we know you are Tabby-special too!

  1. I am the only one here who needs dusting too! I think it’s just the specialness of being black.

    Nice stripes!

  2. I have one, yes just ONE, white hair in the middle of my forehead which huMum has to photoshop out of every photo she takes of me. Not that I let her take many decent pics … I always manage to move and they are blurred. BTW I too manage to cover myself in garden litter! However, reason for this comment is that I’m very, very jealous of Olivia’s tabby stripes

  3. Tabby Terrific. Great pix too. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  15. That’s SO COOL!!!
So if she has some tabby in her….does that mean she’s got a few stripes of mischief too???
    ; )

  16. Hidden stripes???!!! That is so cool!!!

  17. Isn’t that odd? We love the idea of Olivia being a house cleaning meter! We’re featuring her on Katz Tales at http://www.facebook.com/KatzTales tomorrow lunchtime

  18. You are one gorgeous black striped lady !!!
My Snowshoe Siamese has a few stripes too.
I’m not going to tell her that she’s a bit of mix,
she’d proable hit me with her white shoes.

  19. Hi Colehaus kitties. Olivia is very cute. We love black kitties!

  20. We saw them! She’s a tabby in incognito, a stealth tabby! How very cool cause we love little tabbies. Our house panther, Carl, is black through & through. Nary a stripe or mark on him.

  21. Cool stripes Olivia, you’ve definitely got some tabby in you. Two of our Krew have lots of stripes but the rest of us had hidden stripes like you that only show up when the light is right.

  22. Wow Olivia looks like our Oscar xx

  23. Yes! I can see that Olivia has subtle stripes. When I was a kitten, one of my brothers, and one of my sisters who are also black, had faint tabby markings too. My other two siblings were tabbies.

  24. Our Mum adores black cats and was owned by one at one time!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  25. We have a bias for mostly black cats and think she is so beautiful!

  26. Beautiful with or without photoshop. Thaank you for visiting me.. Hugs GJ xx

  27. Olivia is such a beauty made even more so with her new stripes. Gracie has similar stripes which we feel adds to her purrfect personality.

  28. Olivia is a mighty cute kitty 🙂
We love that she has secret stripes too 😉
Tillie and Julie often need dusting as they are the only solid colour kitties here 😉 heehee
We need to check them for stripes.
    Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
    Tiger,Treasure,JJ and Julie

  29. Yay for tabby stripes. Maybe you should FURminate her before taking photos.

  30. My Human has to dust me with Photoshop ALL THE TIME–I am just naturally messy, I guess, but also she’s a really bad housekeeper so there’s always plenty of dust of go around! You DO have stripes! But they can remain your little secret if you want to be a true House Panther. 😉
