Meet the Visitors – Spring Hawk.

Falcon visiting the feeders at Colehaus. 2012 © Colehaus Cats.

A few months ago, something in the backyard caused a stir at the windowsill. Expecting another squirrel in the flowerbox, we were surprised to see a large falcon swoop in and settle on the back fence. Good thing no cats were out there or any little birds in the feeder either!

Since then, we’ve seen the falcon a number of times. We’ve named it Phil. A neighbor frightened it once when it was sitting on their deck. It then flew into their house! For less than a minute, then it was back outside again. Scared the neighbor half to death (not to mention pooped on a rug). Let’s not do that again anytime soon, okay Phil?

Fences good, livingrooms bad. Got it? We’re sure you do.

  1. Fuzzy Tales says:

Phil’s impressive. We’ve never seen a hawk, though the mom has. She says it’s a good thing that we haven’t. 🙂

Definitely best to stay out of living rooms, though! Our human would be totally freaked out by that. LOL.

  2. Wow! We don’t know what we would do if a Phil ever flew into our house! We have hawks around here. All the other birdies are skeerd of them.
