We’re sticklers at waiting until Christmas before opening gifts and packages but the excitement was too great this year for the Colehaus Cats. They knew it was the Secret Paws time of year, that something was up and being the best cat parents we can be, we gave in on Christmas eve to let them open their Secret Paws package. Last month, we were thrilled to have been picked to send a Secret Paws package to The Farm Cats and Patty Woodland of Broken Teepee. The Colehaus Cats helped wrap those gifts, just a little help here and there, and are tickled to know the presents found a great home.
The Secret Paws package for the Colehaus Cats arrived here on the eve of Christmas eve from artist, writer, professor, and homeless cat and animal advocate Robin Bisha and Cheddar of Cheshire Loves Karma and from the start, the kitties knew this was something special. In fact, certain kitties were in LOVE with the box which only means one thing – yep, box love. Or love for Robin and Cheddar who placed something extra good inside. Certain kitties insisted they open the box right that very minute, or even yesterday, if possible, but Mom, well, Mom has rules and as we all know, Mom’s rules… well, rule.
So, into a closet the package went. But not for long! One can only listen to scratchings on a closet door or look into sad, yet adorable faces for so long.
“It’s time!” Mom yelled at last and the kitty crowd went wild!
For Mom, a beautiful hand-crafted card with a poem on the back from The Lizard Cage by Karen Connolly. We LOVE this card art and will frame it as soon as possible. Pia much admired the card’s subject.
Two beautiful Christmas kitchen towels, which are very welcome and will be loved, gently cradled the rest of the bounty. And what a bounty it was! But first, a card specifically address to all.
And inside, a funny, talking, naughty meowy card! It’s a hit with everyone as they all try to find that naughty kitty when a button is squeezed on the front!
This is the only photo Mom was able to take without any kitty photobomb and we’re still unsure how it happened. For micro moments later, the Colehaus Cats jumped and dove in, promptly snagging Yeowww hearts and special edition Yeowww candy canes to carry off for proper nomming and slobbering in private.
There was also pretty red crinkle paper and great smelling crinkly tissue, of which Pia and Zuzu *might* have liked every bit as much as the Yeowww toys.
All the Colehaus Cats – and we – thank Robin and Cheddar, Cheshire Kitten & Nutmeg, Karma, Becket, Belle, Reggie, Bleu, Brie, Colby, Huck & Sparkle, and foster Zoe for this wonderful Secret Paws gift! Thank you!
